Choosing Brands for a Kitchen Remodel
Choosing to remodel your kitchen is a HUGE deal with so many hard decisions to make. I’m so happy to that I partnered with Thomasville Cabinetry (exclusive at The Home Depot), and Kenmore for my kitchen remodel. They are both The Women’s Choice Award winners for the most recommended kitchen cabinets and kitchen appliances. Knowing that other women have voted them the top rated companies for kitchen products made choosing brands for my remodel so much easier!
New cabinets really made this kitchen! I chose Thomasville’s new Studio 1904 line for the kitchen cabinets. I wanted my cabinets to be more modern, extend up to the ceiling and also have a lot of great organizing features. The Studio 1904 line has cabinets that embrace the furniture legacy with a modern vintage vibe that is perfect for my modern farmhouse style.
As for the appliances, I chose the new Kenmore Pro line because I knew that this line could upgrade my kitchen appearance to a professional kitchen without changing sizes of my cabinets or relocating them. Kenmore Pro appliances are also affordable and full of amazing features! I really do feel like a pro chef now and love to use my new appliances. I lost 4 pounds just from cooking in the new kitchen the first week!
Are you ready for the before and after photos? I’m so excited!
I’ll give you a quick before and after problem that we solved. Glance at the photos, then come back and read the details. I’ll be sharing more on the appliances, pantry and kitchen cabinet organization soon!
The Kitchen Island
In this photo the big change was the kitchen island. Before, the bar stools were in our main walkway and nobody ever sat there. I didn’t like how you faced the side of the kitchen, I wanted people (my kids) sitting at the island to be able to talk to me while I was cooking.
Now the stools face my new Kenmore Pro gas range (where I stand most of the time), are not in a major walkway and hidden under a nice and neat cabinet! Thomasville Studio 1904’s wide cabinet selection allowed me to achieve the perfect configuration for my island.
I found these fun industrial barstools and the cage industrial pendant over the sink at Wayfair. The glass lights over the island are from Home Depot.
Bye Bye Desk
The big change in the next photo was getting rid of the desk that nobody ever used, adding more cabinets and moving my refrigerator so it wasn’t next to the doorway. We always got stuck in that doorway when someone was looking in the fridge.
I love the chandelier! I found it at Wayfair, but don’t think it’s available there anymore, but it’s HERE on Amazon!
Hello Barn Door!
The big change in the next photo was getting rid of the arched doorway to our garage! Instead, say hello to my new barn door!
I had a barn door custom built to hide the steel garage door. The area near the garage door was also an unused hallway to my dinning room. It’s now a kitchen pantry! I can’t wait to show you what we did with the pantry. Be sure to check back for more photos and details on the pantry.
Aren’t you loving the barn door? I love it so much!! Can’t wait to show you the other side. The floor is actually tile that looks like wood. (Swoon!)

Here are more close-up details of the new white kitchen! I can’t say enough good things about my new Delta Faucet and Pot Filler!
I also love my new Elkay sink! Get more details about my sink in this post –> here.
My mom passed away earlier this year. I was in the middle of designing it while taking care of her as she battled cancer. I’m glad she got to be in on some of the planning, just sad she couldn’t see the final design. Mom would have LOVED our new kitchen! I’m happy to have filled the kitchen with some of her collectibles such as these blue cookie jars.
I keep finding notes that my mom wrote to me. She knew I would forget what she told me about her vintage goodies! This note was in one of the blue jars.
I filled my floating shelves with some of mom’s kitchen as well. It’s nice to look up at this and remember her.
I love the range hood that was a part of the Thomasville Cabinets collection. It made a huge difference!
I’m in love with our new Kenmore Pro fridge! I’ll share more details with you about it soon. AND you won’t want to miss what’s in the cabinet next to the fridge. More details about my kitchen organization is coming soon!
Another view next to the sink. These drawers have been life changing!
I kept my old table and updated it with some white paint. For a quick fix, I thought it turned out great!
I hope you enjoyed the tour! Be sure to check back soon to see more details.

If there’s one thing that nearly every review mentions, it’s the taste. The juice mix is very refreshing with a cool sort of minty flavor. It tastes much better than other greens drinks that I’ve tried. Patriot power greens
