Science Party Ideas {Free Party Printables}

We just had my son’s 6th Science Birthday party. It was a blast!

I have so much to show you that I will split it up into parts. I hope you enjoy Part 1… it’s all about the decor.

Free Party Printables

While planning this party, there were no science decorations at stores, so I designed some cute party  invitations that fold over and are held together by “Open With Caution” stickers.

I also used the stickers for goodie bags which I’ll show details on my Part 2 post. Since I’m all about the free party printables, I designed a version just for you!!

Just score along the lines, fold and attach the caution sticker with double stick tape or print them out on sticker paper. Print and enjoy!

I am all about cupcakes lately and had the best time decorating these. I just LOVE the little scientist guy.

How to make a Wacky Science Cupcakes

Candy needed:

• Tie- fruit roll-up
• Nose and ears- jelly beans
• Eyes- mini M&M’s
• Mouth- fruit cereal

Directions:

I mixed up some flesh-colored icing for the face. The hair was done by putting the icing in a sandwich baggie and cutting a v shape in a corner. You can then squeeze out the crazy hair! The glasses can be done the same but with a tiny cut in the corner of the bag. I used chocolate icing from a can for those.

Make sure after you place the head cupcake on top of the other cupcake you secure with toothpicks. I didn’t do this and my guy fell smack on the floor as I was carefully moving him to the fridge!! This was my second little mad scientist of the night.

Roll the sides of your cupcakes in sprinkles for a festive look. I found some eyeball gummy candy on sale from Halloween. Worked perfect for decoration.

Dessert Table Ideas

I didn’t have a large cupcake stand, so I rigged one by stacking a glass on top of my cake stand and adding a glass plate with another glass on top of that. It worked great!

Decorate a dessert table with creepy things. My boys LOVED it all!

Fill vases with water and neon food coloring full of plastic snakes and lizards. For a great effect, add dry ice.

I happened to have a gadget that produces bubbles, one of my favorite Halloween purchases! Who knew it would come in handy now?

See the finger in the test tube above? Yuck right??

Add oil and water with a drop of food coloring to plastic test tubes and you have a fun bubbly experiment for the kids to play with.

If you look closely you’ll see my son’s face on the M&M’s. These custom candies are the coolest! The kids thought it was great to eat my son’s head. ha!
