How to make Lego Cake Pops and Lego Marshmallow Pops. Easy fun food recipe ideas for a Lego birthday party. Kids will love these edible minifigures!
Easy Lego Cake Pops
I made Minifigures Lego Cake Pops for my son’s Lego Birthday Party! Aren’t they cute?
At the time I made these creative Lego Cake Pops (in 2010), for my son’s Lego Birthday Party, nobody had seen anything like them. It’s amazing to see them ALL over the internet years and years after posting this. So I am proud to call these the “Original Lego Cake Pops!” My one claim to fame. ha!!!
It is pretty cool to see so many boys enjoying these treats at their own birthday parties and why I started a blog about my creative ideas in the first place. How to Make Lego Cake Pops
What you will need:
- A baked cake (store-bought or homemade)
- One can of frosting (or make your own)
- Yellow Candy Melts
- Gourmet Writer Food Decorator Pens
- Mini Marshmallows or M&M’s (see instructions below)
- Lollipop Sticks
- Piece of craft styrofoam
- Wax paper

Directions
- Bake a cake, let cool. Put pieces of the cake in a bowl. Mash it up mixing it with a can of frosting.
- Roll a small handful of mashed up cake into a ball, then carefully roll the ball on wax paper to make the Lego head shape.
- The Lego connector on top is a small round marshmallow. I sliced up a large marshmallow and used a Wilton cake icing tip to cut out a small circle. You could also use a mini marshmallow cut in half, or an M&M.
- Arrange assembled Lego head shapes on wax paper and stick a lollipop stick in the top.
- Once assembled, freeze the cake pops. This way the cake will hold it’s shape when you dip into the warm candy.
- Fill a deep bowl with Yellow Candy Melts. Melt the candy in the microwave for a minute, then stir. Keep gradually heating the candy until it’s creamy.
- Dip the frozen cake into a bowl of melted yellow candy melts. Gently tap the stick on the side of the bowl and twirl a bit so the candy is smooth.
- Let cool before drawing faces on them. You can use a piece of styrofoam to stick them into until you are ready for the party.

Displaying your Lego Cake Pops
Place the craft styrofoam into a bowl, bucket or cute box, then stick the cake pops into the foam. Cover the foam with candy or shredded paper. I used M&M’s for these Lego Cake Pops.
It would also be hilarious to fill the container with Lego Mini Figurine Heads if you have enough!
Cake pops are good for a few days. I made mine the day before the party.
How to Make Lego Head Marshmallow Pops
Lego Marshmallow Pops are a much faster version of the cake pops. I made several of these pops as a test, and they turned out super cute!
Slicing off the bottom of a large marshmallow and cutting a circle out of it with an icing tip for the top worked great.
Wet your knife or scissors before cutting the marshmallow to make it a clean and less sticky cut.
Assemble your Lego head and follow the same instructions as the cake pops.
Whether you make Lego Cake Pops or Lego Marshmallow pops, the kids will LOVE them!
