By now you’ve probably been to a party where a charcuterie board is being served. They are a great way to serve food to party guests. I love to make them! As we start to gather again, I think a festive jarcuterie is the perfect new party appetizer. Let me show you how to make them!

Serve party snacks as a Jarcuterie! Easy individual charcuterie boards served in jars or charcuterie cups are fun bite-sized appetizers.

Charcuterie boards are a great way to serve meats, cheeses, crackers, and vegetables. Now take this idea, and put it into individual charcuterie cups and jars–or jarcuterie!

I love charcuterie boards because they offer something for everyone! Even your pickiest party guests will love something on a dessert charcuterie or an Epic Charcuterie Board. A jarcuterie is the perfect (and sanitary) way to serve your guests something yummy!

What is a Jarcuterie?

A jarcuterie is a beautiful way to serve food for a grab and go snack. When you put charcuterie items into a cup or jar, you have a portable and customizable appetizer or dessert. I love that they are individual servings, perfect for both large and small gatherings!

How Do I Make a Jarcuterie?

To make an individual charcuterie boards in a jar, start by gathering your materials and ingredients. You will need cups or jars and skewers. After that, get as creative as you want with your jarcuterie!

Start by filling the bottom of the jar with candy, nuts, or crackers. Slice and cut your veggies or cheese into shapes if you like. For this Jarcuterie, I made flowers with flower cookie cutters.

The next step is to carefully thread your snacks onto the skewers. Finally, arrange them in the jar. Its that easy!

What Are the Best Things To Put in a Jarcuterie?

The best food for a jarcuterie will be small snacks and desserts that can either be threaded on a skewer or stand alone in the jar. The possiblilities are really endless, but here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Cured meats-either folded or cubed

You can make any type of individual jarcuterie you want! Seasonal themed versions are my favorite such as my Flower Jarcuterie perfect for spring parties.

I also have a sweet tooth, because I love to make a good dessert jarcuterie using candy as a base filler and all kinds of sweet treats on the skewer. Sweet or savory, your charcuterie cup is sure to please!

Tips to Make a Themed Jarcuterie for Special Occasions

Adding a theme to your jarcuterie is easy!

  • Choose foods by color to represent the occasion or holiday you are celebrating.
  • Add traditional treats or foods for the occasion.
  • Dress up the jar with festive ribbon tied around it.
  • Use colorful straws to add decoration in the jar.
  • Download some of my free printables and glue to a skewer or jar.

How to Make Jarcuterie (Charcuterie Board in a Jar)

Serve party snacks as a Jarcuterie. Easy individual charcuterie boards served in jars, cups or cones are fun bite-sized appetizers!

  • Fill each cup with peanuts.
  • Add 3-4 olives and tomatoes to individual skewers. Cut skewers to fit into your cup or jar so the skewers will stay put. Different heights makes your jarcuterie look like a pretty bouquet!
  • Next, break or slice your bread sticks and meat sticks and place into the cup. Use a skewer on the end of a meat stick to make it easier to add into the peanuts.
  • Fold several slices of salami together and attach to a skewer. Place into cups.
  • Use flower cookie cutters to cut radishes and cheese into flowers. Add them to a skewer along with a small circle of a carrot to form a flower. Place into your jar or cup.
  • Continue decorating your jarcuterie with broccoli, snap peas and basil.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
