I am the mom of a seriously picky eater. Of course, that is totally his dad’s fault and has absolutely nothing to do with me. Okay, I might be a little picky too… plus I like Skittles and Cheetos. A lot.
Finding healthy snacks that my son (and I) will enjoy can be difficult. Here are some recipes that make healthy eating look like it might be fun!
Speaking of Fruit Roll-Ups…who knew it was so easy to make your own? To make these, Shaina from Food for My Family starts off by making her own applesauce, which not only looks surprisingly easy but is a handy recipe all by itself.
When I was a kid, stuffed celery was one of my favorite snacks, and I love the addition of animal crackers in this recipe from BHG.com. That’s not just plain peanut butter, it’s smooth-as-silk peanut butter and honey dip. Yum!
This fruit rainbow from Tangled and True could be an awesome alternative to chips and dip at your child’s next birthday party. I love fun and easy ideas like this, and the fact that the fruit can be swapped out to fit your kid’s taste makes it even better.
Living in rural Arkansas, mice are my mortal enemy. But if they all looked like this, we might be BFF’s! Strawberries are my son’s favorite fruit, and these look just too darn easy not to make for him. You can find this and some other fun and healthy snack ideas on FamilyFun.com.
I’m really excited to try some of these snacks out on my son. Right now his favorite healthy snack is banana slices with granola sprinkled on top. I’d love to hear what fun snacks your family is loving.
