Football Squares Template And Poster

We are getting so excited for the big game! I love a good Football Party and excited to share this Printable Football Squares Template and Poster!

The last big football game of the season is the only time of the year that my husband plans a party, it’s HIS day to do whatever he wants.

His Super Bowl party is always my two kids, husband and me. You have to be very special to get invited to my husband’s parties I guess. ha! He even mails invitations for us all and decorates with flowers and balloons.

Football Squares is so fun!

The most fun thing that my husband does at his party has to be the football squares game pool and prizes.

I love that part of the football party and thought I would design a nice poster for him to use in future years. Plus, I thought you might like to use it for your next football party.

How do you play football squares?

If you have never done a football pool or played “Super Bowl Squares”, here’s how it works:

1. Assign one team to the columns and one to the rows.

2. Have guests join your Football Squares pool and write their names in their squares.

You can do this in a variety of ways, such as have it be a certain amount of money per square. In our case, we provide the party prizes to be handed out each quarter. Each guest gets assigned a certain amount of squares based on how many people are at the party. There are 100 squares to fill. So if you have 10 party guests, each guest gets 10 squares.

3. Assign the numbers after the squares have been filled with names.

Randomly choose numbers 0 through 9 to each column, followed by doing the same for each row. Now each square represents a specific score in the game based on the column and row numbers.

4. Wait for the football game to start and determine the winners per quarter and final game score.

The winner is determined by looking at the last number in each of the teams’ score, and then matching those numbers on the grid and seeing which square intersects those two numbers.

An example would be if the the score at halftime was New England Patriots 33, and Seattle Seahawks 24. The last number for the Patriots is 3, and the last number for the Seahawks is 4. The square on the grid that has the Patriots with a number of 3, and Seahawks score of 4, would be the winner.

I hope you enjoy this design and the Super Bowl!
