Fun Cinco De Mayo Party Ideas with Free Printables to help make your spring celebration complete!
Host a Cinco de Mayo Party
Cinco de Mayo is always celebrated on May 5th and what better excuse to enjoy a fresh margarita with friends! A simple Cinco de Mayo Party is perfect for a few friends or a crowd. I love having casual celebrations with my neighbors. Just because it’s a casual or a last-minute gathering, doesn’t mean you can’t do something special.
I’ve got some easy ideas for entertaining on a budget! And of course, that includes Cinco de Mayo Party Printables to help decorate your table in style.
First, Make the BEST Margarita!
I love fruity frozen margaritas, but today I’m sharing one of my favorite classic margarita recipes! Besides it tasting delicious, it’s one of the easiest drinks to make, especially when you need large batches for parties. This easy beer margarita recipe is a must when hosting a Cinco de Mayo party!
I plan to take jars of these margaritas to my neighbor’s home for a ladies afternoon by the pool. Jars are a great way to display food and drinks, and I always have my cabinets full of them! All you need is four ingredients! Click here for the easy beer margarita recipe.
How to Make Drinks in a Jar
Besides the margarita ingredients, I had all of these items in my home, so this didn’t cost me much and it took just a few more minutes to create a pretty Cinco de Mayo display!
What you’ll need:
- Mason Jars (12 for $9 at your local grocery store)
- Cupcake Liners
- Sharpie
- Free Printable Cinco de Mayo Tags (scroll down to print)
- Scissors
- Small Hole Punch
- Straws
- Twine or ribbon
After mixing the drinks in a large pitcher, pour into the jars and add some sliced limes. Then use the cupcake liners to personalize the jar tops!
Write your friend’s names on the top or leave blank and bring along a pen for people to write their own name.
Pack the jars and some extra limes in a basket or cooler and you’re ready for the party! Before serving, shake the margarita jar gently to mix the ingredients.
I packed these drinks in an old wooden box, then used it for a display. For the banner, I tied a string of white twine around the box and attached the tags to the string with tiny clothes pins.
To soak up some of the moisture from the drinks, I lined the top of the box or with scrapbook paper.
The tiny clothes pins are from Michaels. Aren’t they cute? You could use tape or punch holes in the tags for the string.
Use the Free Printable Cinco de Mayo tags on straws as well.
The only down side to this simple idea is your friends will want you to bring the drinks over all of the time!!
