I’m very proud of my 5 year old who is officially riding a bike with no training wheels!
This is a big deal, considering he’s not very adventurous and freaks out when trying new things.
In celebration of this occasion, I went to the best place to get myself a bike (Walmart of course because I know nothing about bikes). Needless to say, it didn’t take long before I found the one made just for me… a bright red Pee Wee Herman Bike! “The Stars at Night are Big and Bright Deep in the Heart of Texas”… Make fun all you want, but the gigantic seat rocks!
Check out the cool seat I got for Sissy. She is SO happy riding her bike! Or so she thinks she is riding it. She threw a major tantrum the first time I put the helmet on, but once we got going she was in heaven. When she wants to ride, she now says “Ride my Bike… Wee!”
As we were riding, I decided that he was a big kid now and ready to go on another adventure, so we stopped at a swing in the woods near our house. All of the sudden the crying began and our adventure was over.
Either he saw a bug (he’s a true city kid!), had no balance or maybe it was that I told him not to fall off because there was poison ivy, but he wanted out of there fast!! I told you he was not adventurous or liked trying new things.
I really think the poison ivy comment did it… whoops…next time I’ll keep my mouth shut.
Maybe one of these days he’ll be a little more adventurous. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle for one good bike ride with no training wheels.
